This is a Leech & Rigdon Pattern Conf. Buckle. Plate 049 on page 35 of Mullinax's Conf. Buckle book. Rarity "6" The first examples they produced were "plain-faced". During later productions, they began to add variations with "C.S." on the tongue. Has the distinct "Oak-Leaf" Wreath. This plate was dug together and is not a marriage. Very nice Original Dug Confederate Buckle. From the Tenn. Campaign.

Complete Dug Rifleman's Buckle. Absoltely 100% dug all together Riflemans Buckle. NO added parts or put-gethers. All found in the same hole. Absolutely NO repairs. Still retains the two belt bars on the reverse. These are usually broken, missing, or repaired. Not so here. All pieces are well soldered and strong. Hard to find them this honest. Again, this was dug back in the 1970-80-'s in the Yorktown/Williamsburg area all by the same Old digger as all the other items listed here as such. You may find one of these a couple $$ cheaper, but it most likey be missing a bar or two, been repaired, or plain put toghether. This is an honest one.

Extremely Rare Tall Loop C.S. Artillery Buckle. In Mullinax's book, Plate 068 on page 45. Quote from book, "Cast copy of a rare 1849 Mounted Rifleman's Plate (only 1000 made) with letters "U.S." removed prior to making an impression in the sand mold.". Also, " A small quantity was made early in the War by an unknown southern shop. and later with the letters "C.S." added to the tongue.". Rarity 8+. These two pieces are a "Marraige" The tongue was found in Richmond, Va., and the Wreath in Winchester, Va. This Wreath will also fit Plate 066 & 067 in Mullinax's book. So if you had an example with "C.S. on the tongue, well you could match it with thisWreath for a $10,000. Buckle. The Wreath alone is worth what I am asking for the pair.
$2995.
U.S. Boxplate with both iron hooks. A superb very nice plate with a beautiful smooth choc. brown Patina on the face. Good strong hooks with nice solid lead with only a couple surface flakes missing. No bends, cracks, or hidden repairs. Just a very pretty, solid U.S. Boxplate. The kind dug occasionally years ago, that if want just one real pretty example for your collection, then this is it. Found near Berkely Plantation years ago. From the 7-Days Battles in 1862.
$195.
U.S. Buckle. A very unusual U.S. Buckle dug with Round Stud "Puppy Paw" hooks, but NO lead solder for the lead backing filler. This U.S. Buckle was honestly dug this way. The hooks have absolutely NOT been touched back on, nor does it appear that the lead was actually melted out of the back. The buckle is not "burnt" and actually has a deep Coc. brown Patina on the front. It is actually also absolutely Perfect in shape. There are no bends or cracks anywhere on the plate, front, or back. I seriously believe this Buckle could have been made by a Sub-Contractor this way, but who really knows for sure. One thing for sure is that it is a neat dug U.S. Buckle. Found at Berkely Plantation years ago. From the 7-Days Battles in 1862.

Do you need this half, or do you have the other half of this Rare 1812-1820's Early Style Officer's Buckle. Center "S" connector?
Please Email me. Thanks. Sold.
Dug U.S. Boxplate. Very nice U.S. Boxplatewith both iron hooks intact. Pretty deep Choc. brown Patina. Super lead on back with strong hooks. No repairs. For correctness, there is an absolute tiny, tiny dip in the rim on the front at the bottom between the U. & S. It can not be noticed at ALL from the front or back and only a minute hair from the sides. I only say this to be absolutely perfect in my description. It is still a 98% perfect plate and is very, very pretty.
Found in the Antietam, Maryland area.
$199.
Non-Dug Model 1851 Officer's Buckle. What makes this Buckle an Officer's buckle is it's heavy Gold Gilting. This is an Officer's Quality Buckle and would have been authorized for Officers only. Just one beautiful example. Has complete intact 3-piece German Silver Wreath. Absolutely gauranteed Original with no repairs. Has perfect body curve. Besides being a beautiful Gilted Officer's Buckle, what really sets this buckle apart from the others like this, is the fact that it still has the Orininal
"Keeper" that was made with the buckle. Both the "Keeper" and the Buckle are benchmarked # "224" as can be seen in the Pics. Has a couple dark spots from aging(possibly from a piece of the Orig. belt laying over one corner before they became separated). Might come off with some cleaning if you wanted to try. Gilted on front and back. Just a Superb matching Gilted Officer's Buckle and a far cry above those Eagle Buckles normally seen.
$495.
Dug U.S. Boxplate. Nice Plate. Two very small "bumps" on face from iron hooks on back, but no rust coming through. Has one remaining hook. Looks nice and displays well. From Tallapoosa, Ga.
